Every year, Student Ambassador Exchange receives applications from students around the world who are excited and hopeful for their year abroad in the United States. It’s a way for these kids not only to realize their dream of study abroad but also for many students the first time they will interact with American culture!
Host families are always curious what these kids are like – where they come from, what do they love to do, what do they hope to be? While photos and videos aren’t available until after host families submit a free Host Family Application to protect student privacy, we can share short clips of students’ introduction of themselves! We’ll be featuring a new student voice clip every week as a way for our families to “meet” the kids of SAE.
Our first student feature is Tony – a wonderful kid from China who blew our interview team away because of his British accent! Tony loves animals, and he also loves music – he even plays guitar and flute. He refers to himself as his school’s diplomat; Tony thinks it’s important to work out problems even if people have different opinions. He’s changed his mind over the years about what he wants to be when he grows up, but now because of his love for animals, he’s looking forward to being a veterinarian! You can meet all of our students on our Exchange Student Photolisting!
Check out Tony’s “Student Voices” feature and check back every week for new students. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a host family, reach out to one of our Program Coordinators at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask us about hosting Tony!
