Dear Host Family,
Thank you for reading my self-introduction and I am very happy to share more about myself with you.
My name is Leo. There are 4 people in my family, my parents, my brother and me. Living in a happy family, I am surrounded by love from my parents. My parents has been engaged with their own business. Although busy with their work, they spare every effort into my study, hoping me make a great difference in the future. In addition, my mother will make delicious food for family during weekends. I love these food and sometimes she will tell me details on recipe. I will also actively assist my parents in housework, such as washing the dishes and cleaning house. Thanks to my parents,I can be an independent and positive boy now.
Three years middle school life has taught me confidence, independence and how to communicate with others. I was very active in taking part in various activities. As an active volunteer, I took part in fund raising efforts for the children in the Hope Elementary School by selling newspapers.I also served as a volunteer worker to visit the old men in nursing home, in which I did some cleaning, performed plays and
chatted with them. By participating in those voluntary jobs,I gradually knew the importance of true meaning of life.
I like doing sports both at school and home, especially playing badminton. It not only can make me relaxed but also can make me more healthy. Painting is also a significant part in my life. I draw different things whenever I am relaxed or depressed.
When I arrive in America, I will try my best to adapt to new life and make new friends in America. Maybe in the very beginning, I will miss my Chinese family and friends, but I think it will be not a big problem as I am curious about new things and has a good ability to adapt to new environment. Besides, in my spare time I would like to take part in a variety of activities to deepen my horizon and develop different interests in other fields. I am willing to share many cultural customs, traditions or lifestyles of China with the people around me.
Studying in USA is a dream to me. I am so honored to have this opportunity to live with you and become your son. I am thankful that my parents provided me with an environment
that encouraged me to develop my personality and intellect. In the program, I want to know about different culture and different life style. I believe I can improve my English skills and personal qualities with such academic atmosphere. Apart from these academic aspects, I am convinced that I will grow up with more mature and independent characters. Being an exchange student in your host family is definitively a precious experience in my life. All in all, I am looking forward to having a new different life being with you.
