Each of our exchange student’s write a unique letter to their future host family, and these letters are a great way to get a feel for their personality and lifestyle. Take a look at Nora’s letter below!
Student Letters: Meet Nora!
I am Nora, and I’m 14 years old. I live in a really cold city from the north of Spain. Even though I like warmer places, I love my hometown. I live in a flat with my parents. My brother lives away from home, since he is in university. My brother and my father are triathletes. I miss my brother when he’s away but I get to see him a lot of weekends.
I consider myself a mature girl. I am very independent – I don’t like to rely on anyone. I always try to be nice and polite. I am an extroverted person, but it takes me time to open up to people. I am an open-minded person; I try not to judge things or people without knowing and I respect everyone’s thoughts, ideas, and likes. I can be impatient and a perfectionist, which can be a good or bad thing. I get nervous but I am working on that and getting better at controlling it.
I love to hang out with my friends. We have such an amazing time together. They go to the same school as me so we are always together. We share some hobbies but at the same time we have our own personalities so we learn new things from each other.
Here are some things that I love to do in my free time: I love to dance. I love every style and I am always dancing, with or without music. I love any type of music, especially classical, jazz, pop, and rap. I also love to play sports. My favorite subject is PE, and I have so much fun! I enjoy playing instruments. Music is something that calms me and makes me happy when I am upset or stressed out.
I take school seriously. When I get a bad grade, I always try to learn from my mistakes so I don’t repeat them. I always try to be creative and develop my artistic side. I try to express myself through music, paint, writing, dance, and fashion.
