Dear Host Family,

My name is Emerald. I am a student at a famous school in Shanghai, China. It rank top 1 in the district, and I believe it is the outstanding one.

Please let me introduce myself to you now. First of all, Im a good learner. Usually, I do well in learning everything, not only on studying, but also on many other things such as academic course and sports. At school, I always learn things excellently because of my conscientious and active attitude. In addition, with hard work and patience, I also learn many things well without any teacher or help. For example, in robot club, the teacher only give us the manual of machine. I studied the program language
by myself, and all the program and machine were made by me and my teammate.

I’m also an easy going girl. When I have any difficult problems on studying, I will bravely ask my teacher instead of giving it up. As a result, all the teachers and I have good relationships, and they’re glad to help me with my problems at any time. As for my hobbies, I love reading best. I have read many books such as TWILIGHT, NARNIA, and WARRIORS. I’m a crazy fans of HARRY POTTER (a POTTERHEAD). I love this series so much that l read it again and again, both in Chinese and in English. What’s more, it does make me grow up a lot. For instance, I know the greatness of love, the importance of friendships, and how valuable life is, and all of these really change me a lot.

I also love English films so much, and this help me a lot with my English. Beside of HARRY POTTER, I like many others as well, such as ONCE UPON A TIME, MERLIN and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. All of them help me learn more things. For instance, Merlin, a hero, which let me know that if we want to make great success, we should have an ambition and a belief. And we should be thankful for all the people who around us, help us, and teach us all the time.

Besides magic and fantasy stories, I am also crazy on Science and Technology. I have participated in several robot competitions(VEX & WER)in China. I love robot not only for fascinating knowledge, but also for the time when I work with my group. At the beginning of being a team-leader, I felt really nervous. I didn’t know how to lead my team well and always worked alone. However, at last, l realized that a leader should lead the team, but not doing the work on their own without team members. “It’s a TEAM! Not anybody of it, we are all part of it!” My teacher told me this. From then on, I work with my mates, tell them what to do and how to do it better. Finally, this made our team became better and better.

When I have free time, I sometimes work on 3D-Printing myself. I believe after my hard working, I will finally make my decent, own 3D-Printer soon. However, nobody is perfect, I also have a few habits that need to be changed. But I will do my best to change it, and be a better me.

At last, thank you very much for your time to read this letter, because it’s really a long one. I hope you can consider me as a member for your family.

Sincerely,

emerald
