#SAEstories: Meet Izzie!

Izzie the Laugher

It’s easy to tell how excited each of the students are to spend a year in the United States. Even the shyest students light up when we ask them what they are looking forward to. Even the most serious students crack a smile while telling us what a year in America means to them. However, no one could compare with the smiles we got from Izzie. Despite being nervous about interviewing in English, she never stopped smiling. Her sunny disposition made us certain that she would do great in a new environment.

Izzie

Izzie thinks she’ll enjoy her time in the US because she enjoys getting to know people. When introducing herself, she said: “I like to communicate with people and make friends. I am sure that I will meet a lot of American friends in your community. The reason I like to communicate with people is because I consider this a learning process.” As outgoing as she is, it’s no surprise that Izzie is happiest when she’s spending time with her friends. Their two favorite activities are playing basketball or riding bicycles together.

Like many of our students, Izzie has been in boarding school for quite some time. She’s used to living away from her parents and knows how to be independent but is excited to be living with a family full time! She would do well with a host family who enjoys being outside as much as possible. If you live in Texas, even better – Izzie told us that she would love to see cowboys and hear country music while she is here!

Hosting is a totally free opportunity, and you have 24/7 support from our office! To get started on the adventure of a lifetime, all you have to do is reach out to our office at (512) 323-9595 or start filling out a Host Family Application!
